On this page you will find links to Backgrounds I painted for TV series as well as for the Feature Movie The Magic Pudding.

Note that these works were done while in the employ of other companies and they own the copyright to these works so do not take, copy or use for any other purpose but to see examples of my work.

Also keep in mind that the creation of an animation is the group effort of a large group of very talented artists so while I endeavor to show only a small cross section of work that I specifically painted (I can not show them all because it would run into hundreds) you must keep in mind that there were also layout artists,clean up artists involved before the work could be painted. On some work I did all 3, layout, clean up and paint but for the most part these samples show my work as a background painter.

Another thing you will notice is that they somehow seem lacking as they have no apparent point of interest. This is because they are only backgrounds, they should not have a focus. The focus is the animated characters that play against the backgrounds. note that they are also layered so characters can pass behind trees etc.

Both Wicked and The Magic Pudding were produced by Energee Entertainment.
The creation of the backgrounds were particularly interesting in that the actual drawing is part of the finished painted work. The Magic pudding is based on the original story by Norman Lindsay
